When installing m2Advisor on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10, there is an extra step that must be performed before running m2Advisor for the first time. This extra step is required due to the security rules in modern versions of Windows being restrictive.
m2Advisor will by default install to one of the following location (unless a different location is chosen during the installation process or your system is configured differently from Windows default settings):
C:\Program Files (x86)\m2Advisor
C:\Program Files\m2Advisor
Step 1
Open up a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder above that which m2Advisor installed to (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86) or C:\Program Files)
Select the folder named “m2Advisor” and right-click your mouse on it. A menu similar to the following will be displayed:
Select the menu item “Properties” and click your mouse button.
Step 2
A window will popup. Select the tab along the top with the text “Security” on it. The Window will look similar to the following Window:
Step 3
Click the “Edit” button that is half-way down the Window (see screenshot above). The following Window will be displayed:
Step 4
In the list at the top of the window, select the item that begins with “Users”. In the window below, click the “Allow” boxes next to “Full control”, “Modify” and “Write” so that they have a tick in them. The boxes “Read & execute”, “List folder contents” and “Read” should have ticks in them already.
Once those boxes are all ticked, press the “Apply” button followed by the “OK” button.
Step 5
Restart m2Advisor and enter your site-key and then login.
