If you are getting this error when trying to run m2Advisor, it most likely means that your computer has recently upgraded the Java software. As a result, m2Advisor is now pointing to the wrong Java file.
To rectify this issue, please follow the instruction below:
1. Go to C:\Program Files\m2Advisor\JExpress and open the notepad filename "m2Advisor" (File Type: PROPERTIES File). It will look something like this:
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_45 (or whichever your Java version is the latest) and copy that path. E.g. my latest Java version is jre1.8.0_45 hence I will copy the text "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_45".
3. Next, paste this path in the "m2Advisor" notepad file you have opened in Step 1 where it is marked with the red ractangular box. As you can see below, I have added the additional "\" in the path and "\\bin\\javaw.exe" at the end of the path. Do the same for your path.
4. Save your "m2Advisor" notepad file.
5. Done.
